Week 6 of the NFL 2020 season saw its far share of good games just like it has all season long there were four teams on by this week including Chargers, Raiders, Seahawks, and Saints who will all be back next week obviously with good opponents. Lets look at the games for this week though for now.
Bears and Panthers were one of many early games on Sunday morning the Bears defense came to play thankfully to get the win. It seemed like both of the sides of the team have improved for the Bears especially the O line who did not allow a sack the entire game hopefully it is a step in the right direction and it continues for the rest of the year as the offense continues to improve as for the defense they are already good and are improving as well each week. The Panthers still look like a fairly decent team who just had an off week and I do see them bouncing back next week in what should be a good game for them. Bengals and Colts ended up being a very good game unfortunately for the Bengals their 21 point lead did not last as the Colts would come back in the second half and win the game. Joe Burrow is looking really good out on the field and like a first draft pick his O Line did a great job this week of protecting him against a team I thought had a really good defense which I have seen that become false in the last two weeks. Nonetheless they still found a way to come away with the win. Truthfully speaking I think it is not too early for the Bengals to turn their season around and maybe even have a shot at a wild card if not this year than for sure next year.
Lions and Jaguars turned out to be a better game than I expected although I did expect to see the Jaguars come away with the win but just like many of my predictions the last couple weeks I have been very wrong. I don’t know why i expected more from the Jaguars like winning a game was hoping Minshew would show up and play good football what a wrong thought that was just have not seen it from him a lot this year and really don’t understand what Jacksonville sees in him the Lions came to play and they haven’t looked all to bad this season either Stafford is a good QB say what you want about him but the stats are there just the talent around him is not curious to see what happens with them the rest of the year as for Jacksonville not so much sorry Jaguars fans. What a great game by Matt Ryan and the Falcons was not expecting that at all after watching their first five games of the season having a lead thought they would blow that seems like the Atlanta thing to do but the Braves went ahead and took care of that for them that night. Vikings look like crap Cousins is so overrated and so overpaid it really is a sad thing to see the Vikings have had a very good defense for a very long time and not a good QB to help them out on the other side of the ball honestly can see why Diggs wanted to leave and go to what’s supposed to be a winning Bills team either way though I did not expect the Vikings to be this bad.
Was very excited to see the Giants get their firs win this week yes it was against Washington but a win is a win and being in the NFC East you never know a losing record could very much win you a division title. Now with Washington would really like to see them make the switch to Alex Smith for QB yes he just came back from a very bad injury but if Washington wants to have any chance at winning games they need to change something and it starts with whos under center Smith was a great QB before his injury and you really don’t know how this injury is going to affect the rest of his career but give the guy a chance to prove himself once again. The Giants O- Line looked so much better in this win it was very impressive have to wonder if they will keep it up and win some more games Daniel Jones didn’t go out and throw for a ridiculous amount of yards but he played well enough and his run game helped get them a win.
The Eagles played better than anyone expected thinking they were going to get blown out but hung in there with the Ravens and almost won the game. Although I do think they are in a worse position than Dallas is they still could have a very good chance at winning that division they are in that’s a dumpster fire to begin with. To win that you have to give Wentz some protection and some weapons to even make the Eagles a threat as for the Ravens not seeing anything wrong with them maybe Jackson and the rest of the team had a very off game against the Chiefs in week 3 but we will see when they play the Steelers who they really are or if teams are starting to figure out Jackson. Browns did not look like the team people were making them out to be they just got straight up embarrassed by the Steelers could not move the ball whatsoever or score any points maybe Baker Mayfield needs to worry more about playing football and less about making those damn commercials. Steelers look like the real deal as well going 5-0 could really see them as a threat in that division if they can handle the Ravens.
As expected the Titans beat the Texans and as overrated as the Texans seem they did not go easily they could of and they had a very good chance to win that game on Sunday but Derrick Henry is ridiculous and leads that Titans offense just do not see him being stopped no matter who they are playing for the rest of the season. Although Deshaun Watson may not be overrated himself all the hype over the Texans in this offseason was they were way overhyped and it all started by giving away Hopkins that was such a bad idea Watson lost his main target yes Fuller and Cooks are great options but they are not on the same level as Hopkins was and that is why they are going to struggle that and their defense cant seem to keep the scoring down Watson can put up all the points he wants but until they get that defense taken care of its not going to make a difference. The Packers team that showed up are not the same team that has shown up the first weeks of this season they looked horrible and did not show up to play at all besides Rodgers was on the ground so much in that game it was ridiculous to watch. Yes Brady did not play any better but their defense certainly were a big help in securing that win for them its been a long time but the Bucs look like they might be for real.
The Rams looked horrible and that is proving a lot of people right so many people did not expect the Rams to be good this year and through the first five weeks it looked like they were going to be able to prove people wrong but after this game against the 49ers you shouldn’t know how to feel about them they just did not show up to play at all it looked as though the two teams switched spots and the Rams looked like how the 49ers played the Dolphins last week. Maybe the 49ers will be back to their winning ways after getting Jimmy back maybe this game was a step in the right direction it could be but in order to win that division they have to deal with the Seahawks and surprisingly the Cardinals who have looked fantastic this year as well. Broncos and the Patriots that was such a boring game to watch there was no offense in that game whatsoever was for sure not expected maybe from the Broncos but not from the Patriots at least the Broncos know that their kicker is good as for the Patriots you don’t really know from them anymore starting to wonder if Patriots fans miss Brady yet or not I would.
Dolphins did exactly what I thought they would do and more what was not fully expected was them shutting out the Jets we all knew the Jets cant score points but thought maybe they’d have at least a field goal and not be shutout. If I was Trevor Lawrence I would be nervous and wouldn’t want to come into the draft next year stay in college and play it safe for another year and take the chance of going somewhere better for your career sorry Jets fans. That Cardinals win was awesome on Monday night Kyler Murray looks like everything everyone thought he was going to be just needed a little bit of help on offense and defense and that showed tonight. Dallas does not look the same without Prescott under center Dalton is just not it for them. Other than that their defense has looked horrible all year even with Prescott they had such high hopes for this team this year just for it to get crushed once again.
The Bills sadly look overrated it looks as though other teams are starting to figure out Josh Allen as much as I like the guy its looking to be true he just has not looked like the same QB the last two weeks as he did the first four and last week this looked like the year to go out and win the division but now not so sure hopefully it proves to be wrong and it was just a couple off weeks for them but you just never know. As for the Chiefs Patrick Mahomes is awesome and he is earning that contract he was given every week the Chiefs are always going to be a force to reckon with for years to come. Lets hope week 7 has the same amount of good games and good plays as week 6 has.
